Introduction
My approach
With more than 25 years of experience, I work with commitment, integrity, and compassion. My approach is open, pragmatic, efficient, and free from unnecessary bureaucracy.
Therapy centred around you
The therapy is centred around you, because you are the expert on yourself and on what you are struggling with. Together, we work towards better understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behaviour. Gaining insight into yourself and your situation is the first step towards meaningful change.
A trusting relationship between client and therapist is essential. I offer a warm, open, and goal-oriented way of working.
Individual therapy for adults
Most people go through periods in life when things feel difficult or overwhelming. Work, relationships, family life, health, or major life changes can all affect how we feel.
Often, these phases pass on their own or with support from people around us. Sometimes, however, problems persist or become too intense to manage alone. In therapy, we explore your questions, clarify your goals, and work together towards change — at a pace that feels right for you.
Couples therapy
Every relationship experiences ups and downs. When communication becomes difficult, conflicts repeat themselves, or emotional distance grows, couples therapy can help.
In joint sessions, I support both partners in recognising patterns, improving communication, and rebuilding emotional connection.
✓ deeper understanding
✓ better communication
✓ more closeness and connection
About me
I grew up in Switzerland, where I was trained as a psychologist. I have been living and working in Amsterdam for over 25 years. After several years in mental health care, I started my own private practice.
I offer therapy in Dutch, German, and English. My approach is pragmatic, client-centred, and direct. Clients describe me as warm, open, honest, and trustworthy.

Loss and grief
1. Low self-confidence, low self-esteem, insecurity
Clients learn that insecurity is a part of them, but not their whole identity. In most cases, these feelings developed during childhood.
People often tend to reject or push away this vulnerable part of themselves. In therapy, clients learn to gently connect with this part and to respond to it with care and compassion from an adult perspective. This helps create inner calm, safety, and self-confidence.
2. Relationship problems
In my practice, I work with couples facing a wide range of relationship difficulties, such as:
-
feeling stuck or disconnected
-
frequent conflict or arguments
-
lack of understanding between partners
-
infidelity
-
one or both partners doubting whether to continue the relationship
-
sexual difficulties
-
major life events
-
parenting challenges
In joint sessions, we work together to break negative patterns. I am there for both partners, not as a referee, but as a neutral guide.
This allows me to recognise recurring communication and interaction patterns and make them open for discussion. Gaining insight into these patterns is the first step towards change, with the goal of understanding each other better and responding with more kindness and compassion.
This creates space for open communication, vulnerability, and a deeper emotional connection.
3. Trauma
I often work with EMDR therapy. This method helps reduce or remove the emotional intensity of traumatic memories.
4. Burnout
In the first phase, we focus on recovery: slowing down, restoring balance, and rebuilding energy. Once there is more stability, we explore the underlying causes that led to burnout. I also support the process of returning to work and reintegration.
5. Loss and grief
There are many forms of loss in life, such as the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of work, illness, or the loss of the hope of having a child.
Loss often leads to grief. To move through a healthy grieving process, several tasks are involved:
-
accepting the reality of the loss
-
allowing pain and sadness
-
adapting to life without what was deeply important
-
finding a place for the loss and continuing with life
How many therapy sessions are usually needed?
On average, therapy consists of 5 to 15 sessions, depending on your question and situation.
