Andrei-Raul | Psychologist
Introduction
I am a psychologist and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) practitioner, offering evidence-based online therapy for anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and emotional difficulties.
I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, helping them develop practical tools to better manage their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and build a more balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling life.
I offer online therapy sessions in English or Romanian for individuals across Europe, including expats and international clients living in the Netherlands.
My approach is integrative and personalized, combining Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with elements from Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. I focus on understanding you as a whole person, your experiences, patterns, values, and life context, not just symptoms or labels.
In our work together, we focus on:
-
anxiety and stress management
-
depression and low mood
-
overthinking and negative thought patterns
-
burnout and emotional exhaustion
-
self-esteem and self-criticism
-
life transitions and personal growth
My therapeutic style is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in unconditional acceptance. I create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your inner world, gain clarity, and develop practical strategies for lasting change.
In addition to one-on-one therapy, I have experience working in international educational and personal development projects, supporting young adults in diverse and multicultural environments.
If you are looking for an English-speaking or Romanian-speaking psychologist or CBT therapist who combines evidence-based methods with a warm and human approach, I am here to support you.
Online therapy
Starting online therapy is simple, flexible, and accessible from anywhere. I offer online therapy sessions via secure video calls, allowing you to connect with a psychologist from the comfort and privacy of your own space, whether you are in the Netherlands, elsewhere in Europe, or anywhere in the world.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and is tailored to your individual needs. Together, we focus on understanding your current challenges, identifying patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and developing practical strategies for meaningful change.
My work is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach proven to be effective for anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, and emotional difficulties. Depending on your needs, I also integrate elements from ACT, Schema Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns, including anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship challenges, while offering greater flexibility and accessibility.
All sessions take place in a confidential, safe, and supportive environment, following professional ethical guidelines and psychological standards.

Specialisations and Expertises
Anxiety, Intrusive Thoughts, and Emotional Struggles
Many people don’t come to therapy with just one clear problem. Instead, they experience a mix of anxiety, overthinking, low mood, or persistent inner tension that shows up in different ways.
You might find yourself constantly worrying about the future, replaying past situations, or feeling unable to “switch off” your mind. At times, your thoughts may become intrusive or disturbing, leading you to question yourself or feel out of control. You may start avoiding certain situations, seeking reassurance, or developing small habits that temporarily reduce anxiety, but keep the cycle going.
For some, this shows up as phobias (fear of flying, social situations, health concerns), for others as compulsive behaviors or repetitive thoughts. It can also be accompanied by periods of low mood, lack of motivation, or feeling emotionally drained.
Even though these experiences may seem different, they are often part of the same underlying pattern: a mind trying to protect you, but getting stuck in loops of fear, control, and self-doubt.
In therapy, we work on understanding these patterns and gently changing your relationship with them, so that thoughts feel less overwhelming, anxiety becomes more manageable, and you can regain a sense of clarity, freedom, and emotional balance.
Living Abroad, Stress, and Identity
Living in another country can be exciting, but it also comes with challenges that are not always visible from the outside.
You might feel like you have to “hold it together” while navigating a new environment, language, or culture. Things that used to feel simple, making connections, feeling understood, or even just relaxing, can suddenly require more effort.
Some people notice increased anxiety, loneliness, or a sense of disconnection. Others feel stuck between identities, no longer fully at home in their country of origin, but not completely settled where they are now.
You may recognize yourself in experiences like:
-
overthinking social interactions or feeling “out of place”
-
difficulty building close relationships
-
pressure to succeed or justify your decision to move
-
feeling isolated despite being surrounded by people
-
emotional ups and downs without a clear reason
These reactions are more common than you might think, and they make sense given the level of change and adaptation involved.
In therapy, we create space to process these experiences, reconnect with your sense of self, and build emotional stability in a new environment, so you can feel more grounded, confident, and at home in your life again.
